VISION

To build a community where all children and youth have the foundation needed to thrive.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARK HITE

Mark W. Hite joined the Board of Directors of Chambliss Center for Children in 2016 after many years of involvement as a volunteer and donor. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2023 and would have held that position again in 2024 had it not been for his untimely passing. Mark was a passionate, caring, and energetic cheerleader for our mission and our staff. His dedication to our Board of Directors and generosity towards our agency were contagious. His death leaves countless holes in the many committees and projects in which he was involved, as well as in the hearts of those who worked alongside him. Mark was commonly seen around town wearing a Chambliss Center for Children lapel pin and was always introducing friends and colleagues to our cause. He did everything from recruiting event sponsors to cleaning closets and everything in between. He was a true servant and unwavering philanthropist. Mark will be deeply missed by our staff and board members, and we will strive to continue to make him proud as we carry on with the work of serving children and families in our community.

A NOTE FROM OUR 2022 BOARD CHAIRMAN, JULIE S. STOWE

2022 was a extraordinary year of transition, growth, and celebration at Chambliss Center for Children. There is never a dull moment at this agency, and I continue to be amazed by the flexibility, commitment, and love the staff displays 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year. What an honor to participate in the Cornerstone Time Capsule event, witness the community coming together in such a special way at the fabulous 150th AnniveraPARTY, and watch the exciting progress taking shape in the form of the Isaiah 117 House on campus. It is such a privilege to work alongside the staff and Board of Directors as we continue this agency’s longstanding commitment to children and families in Chattanooga.

A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT, KATIE HARBISON

We have seen some big challenges in our long history, but surviving a pandemic might rank very high on our list of organizational achievements! From navigating quarantines and classroom closures to retaining staff and revenue sources, this has been another historical and eventful year. The real heroes of 2021 are the amazing, dedicated staff members who give of themselves each and every day and the incredibly generous and compassionate community members who believe in our mission. We wouldn't be the agency we are today without them.
